I am a volunteer, like every Girl Scout leader! My troop is not a well oiled machine that has no issues and I never claim for it to be that way. This is only my second year of running this troop and I feel as though I'm doing a pretty good job, although I know there have been some hiccups this year! Its been 3 months since our troop nearly tripled and I'm still trying to get the hang of it! It certainly has it's challenges with the increase in number of people in the troop. I always get some non supportive parents every year who get mad at me over the smallest of things. But I also have really supportive and encouraging parents who let me know that I can handle it and that I am doing a great job! So far in 3 months (If I count the rest of this week through Sunday), I have: Recruited 2 leaders, 4 assistant leaders, 3 communication assistants, 2 cookie assistants, and set up a meeting time that works for a troop of 40.
